Gauis Point
A unique treed area and legally established Ungulate Winter Range surrounded by agricultural land and containing diverse stands of pine, Douglas fir and other tree species. Objectives are to improve conditions for the UWR, limit Douglas fir beetle infestations, remove fuel build up due to dead pine, and regenerate the stands. The area has had a carefully planned and implemented harvest treatment to fulfill these objectives.
